KIRSTIE'S STORY - Best Friends!
(3 days later in the ICT room)
Kirstie: My screen keeps telling me I need to debug! What's that all about?
Terry: Dunno. I always just click on 'no'. when it happens to me.
Sarah: Well why don't you ask the teacher? That's what she's paid for.
Kirstie: Why don't you shut up?
Sarah: Oh nice. I thought you'd need all the friends you can get, now Joanne's after you.
Terry: Why don't you shut your mouth you fat cow?
Kirstie: No don't, listen I'm sorry. Let's just get on with it shall we?
(Joanne comes over to Kirstie's table)
Joanne: Ahh, that's so sweet. Sarah the fat cow, Terry the loser and Kirstie the grass all together happy as can be.
(Kirstie, Sarah, Terry say nothing)
Joanne: Oh have you been working really hard Kirstie? Tell me what happens if you press this button? Oh, look! All your work's been deleted! What a shame!
Kirstie: You bitch! What did you do that for? What's the matter with you?
Teacher: What's happening?
Kirstie: Nothing Miss.
Teacher: Doesn't look like it to me. It looked like an argument from where I was standing. Why is your screen blank Kirstie?
Joanne: It's nothing Miss, just two friends having a disagreement.
Teacher: Well do it out of my lesson time, if you don't mind.
(Teacher goes away)
Sarah: You should have told her Kirst, she'd have sorted Joanne out.
Joanne: I'd like to see her try. (pulls Kirstie's hair and says in her ear.) It's just two friends falling out, right Kirst?
(End of lesson, class starts to leave)
Teacher: Kirstie and Joanne, I'd like to see you please.
Joanne: Oh come on Miss, I'm going to miss my break. We don't want to miss our break do we Kirst?
Teacher: I've been watching you both during this lesson and I want to know what's going on. You're not acting like friends as far as I can see and I don't like the atmosphere between you.
(Kirstie and Joanne say nothing)
Teacher: Joanne, I think you deleted Kirstie's work and I want to know why.
Joanne: No I didn't.
Teacher: Joanne, Let's not waste our time shall we? I know you deleted her work and so do you, and I can see Kirstie's too scared to say. I'm not having someone in my class scared of someone else. What's going on? I'm not going into a big investigation and I'm not going to punish you, but I'm not having this carrying on in my class. Is it about the police thing?
Kirstie: Yes it is.
Joanne: Look Miss, she let me down right? She was supposed to be my friend, she grassed me up to the police, and Mel took her away from me.
Teacher: So, do you want to go for your break or do you want to talk about this?
Joanne: Oh go on then, yeah, I don't mind.
Kirstie: Okay.
