HUSSAIN'S STORY - Who's insulting?
(The lesson continues)
Terry: I think you're all pathetic. My dad says you just have to stick up for yourself, call people a name back, hit them if you have to. It works for me.
Sarah: It works for you? Mr popular! Nobody likes you, you're always in trouble, and anyway, you don't even live with your dad.
Terry: I do have a dad you fat cow.
Kelly: Yeah but Terry, you're starting something now. Don't have a stress about it, okay? Be cool. We're supposed to be discussing this, not having a fight.
Terry: All I'm saying is there's no point in crying about it. You just have to get on with it.
Kelly: But you're also saying you have to hit back, either with more insults or by - I dunno... head butting someone like you did last term.
Terry: But what else are you supposed to do? No one else is going to fight my battles for me. Look at Sarah, she never says anything when she gets bullied and they just keep doing it.
Hussain: If I head butted everyone who called me a racist name I'd be in prison by now.
Kelly: Yeah, all I'm saying is it's not the only way to handle it.
Sarah: Terry's right though. He's always calling me stuff, last week he was there when Jamie nicked my dinner. Maybe I should hit you Terry, is that what you're saying?
Terry: You're not going to move fast enough to catch me, are you?
Kelly: There you go again Terry. Cool it.
Terry: So what do you do then Kelly? Some one gets at you, takes the mickey, winds you up. What do you do? From what I hear you and Joanne nearly had a fight in the library yesterday. That wasn't so cool.
Hussain: And the two of you had a fight last year...
Kelly: Yeah but it's not the way is it? I mean, like you say Hussain, you'd be fighting all the time if you hit back whenever you're called names. Terry's way doesn't work for you.
Sarah: So what do you do Hussain? I don't say anything when people call me names and it doesn't make them stop...
