JOANNE'S STORY - I need help too
(A few days later in the ICT room)
Joanne: Miss (...... What am I going to say, what am I going to say....?)
Teacher: Joanne. What's up?
Joanne: Er, well, I was wondering (...... I can't do this. I don't know what to say. What am I supposed to say? Miss I feel crazy? Miss I feel bad? This is stupid, I shouldn't be here, it's a waste of time anyway....)
Teacher: Is it something about your work Joanne?
Joanne: (...... My work? If only she knew! The last thing I'm bothered about is my work. How am I supposed to think about that....?) Not really Miss.
Teacher: Okay, so tell me what's up.
Joanne: (...... What's up? What's up? My mum's been beaten up by my dad for years, I hate going home every night, I don't like anybody apart from Kirstie and I reckon she's not going to like me much longer, People are saying I'm a bully, maybe I am. The people who want to hang out with me talk about me behind my back. I hate myself. What's up.....?)
Teacher: Is it hard to talk about?
Joanne: Yeah.... I don't know where to start.
Teacher: Okay, I can see you're upset. Why not start with whatever's easiest to say?
