I'm Joanne's mum, though I hardly see her these days. I worry about Joanne quite a bit, really. She seems to be really aggressive these days and she doesn't seem to have many friends at school - only Kirstie, and I wonder how long that would last if Kirstie stood up to her. We had a big family problem last year. Joanne's dad and I used to fight a lot, and, well, he got in trouble with the law because he got violent. He lives somewhere else now and he's not allowed to come to the house. There's an arrangement for him to meet Joanne on Sundays, but more often than not she doesn't want to see him. She was there sometimes, you see, and I think she's angry with him and a bit frightened of him too, I suppose she never really knew what was going to happen.
